LG is slowly trying to establish itself as a known smartwatch brand in the market. The company first released the LG G Watch which came with a boring square design and modest specs. Naturally, the device was
overshadowed by the much better looking Moto 360. Moto smartwatch’s round design became so popular that everyone in the industry decided to go with a round face for their next smartwatch.
Only a few months later, we saw LG release its first round smartwatch, the LG G Watch R and it was instantly well received. This proved that a round face was preferred by customers than a square face, mainly because it gives the wearable a clean and traditional look.
Now, only a few months after the launch of its first round face smartwatch, the South Korean giant has announced another round smartwatch in the market called the LG Watch Urbane. This will be the company’s third smartwatch and the second round face watch. Unlike the first two models, which were targeted at gadget fans and enthusiasts, the LG Watch Urbane is targeting a more luxurious crowd. It is evident from the premium look of the device and the luxury branding.
The LG Watch Urbane comes with a stainless steel body which can be coated with gold or silver options. Further it will have 22mm pure leather strap which is also removable. So, you can change the strap with your favorite one without any hassle.
Coming to the tech specs, the LG Watch Urbane comes with a Snapdragon 410 processor with 512MB RAM. There will be a 1.3-inch 320 x 320 pixel resolution display on the device. Further, users will get a 410 mAh battery on board to power the device. To make the watch more rugged, LG has made it IP67 certified, which means its water and dust resistant. Finally, to top things off in this luxury watch, LG has also included a heart rate monitor on board. The new LG watch is much slimmer in size as well as bezels than the G Watch R. The watch definitely looks good and you can expect it to retail for much more than $300, which is the price you’ll have to pay if you want to purchase the G Watch R.
Within a matter of a year, LG has gone from releasing a device like LG G Watch with a boring design to a watch like this LG Watch Urbane. Expect more beautiful wearables launches in the coming months.
